The honest conversation about Ozempic.
You're injecting yourself once a week. The weight is moving — maybe twenty kilos already gone. Your jeans fit again. Friends are commenting. From the outside, this looks like a win.
From the inside you know something else is happening too. You're not eating. The food that arrives feels like an obligation, not a pleasure. Some weeks you can barely manage a smoothie. Your hair has started to thin. Your skin looks tired. You've stopped lifting at the gym because you have no energy. Your mood shifts without warning. And somewhere underneath all of it is the quiet, persistent question — what happens when I stop?
This programme exists for exactly that conversation. It runs alongside your injection, not against it.
What this programme is.
A structured, twelve-week functional medicine protocol designed to do six things the injection cannot do on its own:
- Protein architecture. Most women on GLP-1s are eating 30-40g of protein a day. Your body needs 100-120g to hold muscle. We rebuild the plate around protein-first food you can actually swallow.
- Micronutrient repair. Reduced food intake creates predictable nutrient gaps — B12, iron, magnesium, vitamin D, zinc. We identify the gaps and replenish them through food and targeted supplements.
- Muscle preservation. A practical lifting protocol you can do in 25 minutes, twice a week, at home or at your gym. Without this, 25-40% of what you lose is muscle.
- Mood, sleep, nervous system. GLP-1s affect dopamine pathways. The anhedonia, the flatness, the bad sleep — these have a name and they have interventions.
- Real food rebuild. Slowly, gently, learning to want food again. Recipes designed for low-appetite weeks. Cooking that doesn't feel like work.
- The off-ramp. A structured tapering plan for the day you stop. Most regain happens here. The right plan changes that.
How the 12 weeks run.
A 12-week guided transformation across three phases — Foundation, Building and Progressing. We meet weekly for 45 minutes, and each session brings together your focus for the week: education, nutrition, movement, troubleshooting, and supplemental support if you need it.
Over the twelve weeks we work through:
- Foundations
- Digestion & eating habits
- Blood sugar & smart carbohydrates
- Fats
- Hormones & energy
- Gut health & microbiome support
- Nervous system support
- Stress & sleep
- Mindset & emotional eating
- Plateaus, dose adjustments & troubleshooting
- Advanced nutrition
- Long-term maintenance & lifestyle architecture
- Hormones & menopause
Who this is for.
- Women on Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy or compounded semaglutide
- Women considering starting and wanting to do it properly
- Women planning to come off in the next six months
- Women who came off without a plan and are watching the weight come back
- Doctors and practitioners referring patients for the wraparound support they can't deliver in a 15-minute consultation
The honest line
This is not weight-loss coaching. It is body-and-mind support for the woman doing the GLP-1 conversation seriously. The weight is your business. What you keep, what you build, and how you feel — that's ours together.
Frequently asked.
Can a functional medicine coach really help me while I'm on Ozempic?
Yes — and this is exactly the gap most women are missing. The injection suppresses appetite. It doesn't protect muscle, replenish micronutrients, manage mood swings, repair sleep, or plan for the day you stop. That work is what coaching adds on top. Done right, the two are complementary.
What happens when I come off the injection?
Without a plan, most women regain 60-70% of the weight within 12 months. With a structured taper, protein-led nutrition, strength preservation, and the right supplement support, the come-off can hold. This is the centre of our 12-week protocol.
Do I need bloods for this programme?
No — this programme doesn't require blood work to start. We work from your symptoms, history and goals. If you already have recent bloods, bring them and we'll factor them in.
Is this group or 1:1?
Both options run. 1:1 for women who want fully personalised attention. Small-group cohorts (4-6 women, same start date) for women who want shared accountability at a lower price point. Both run for 12 weeks.
Is this in person or online?
Both. In-person sessions at Bryanston for clients in Johannesburg. Online (Zoom) for clients anywhere in South Africa. The programme content is identical; the delivery flexes to your life.
